THE GIFFRE AND THE DRANSE: THE TWO MOST BEAUTIFUL RIVERS IN THE HAUTE SAVOIE
1 Day Rafting + Canoraft/Airboat on the Giffre and 1 day Rafting + Hydrospeed on the Dranse.
Beyond the very technical aspect, these two days are a great time to relax and enjoy the idyllic setting.
Rafting + Canoraft/Airboat on the GIFFRE
We meet 9am at the Samoens base to get the equipment and transfer to the starting point on the Giffre. Your guide will give you a safety briefing before you set off on the descent. If the water level allows, you will cross the unforgettable Gorge des Tines. We’ll finish at about 11.30.
At 2pm we reconvene for the Airboat or Canoraft session. Your instructor will explain all the necessary manoeuvers and you will control your own boat. Each stop will be an opportunity for a few new tips. If at the end of the descent you have not mastered all the techniques, you will have learnt a lot!
Difficulty: Class II, III. The Gorges de Tines is difficult to classify.
Rafting + Hydrospeed on the DRANSE
We meet at 8.15am at the Samoens base and depart for the Dranse (1 hour drive away, aboard our bus or minibus). Once there you will make a descent in a Raft followed by a Hydrospeed session.
A powerful and sporty river, it remains within the reach of fit first-timers with its large bed and many beautiful rocks. There are many rapids, dips, rollers and waves. Your Ecolorado guide will lead you through them all.
Difficulty: Class III
Price: €150/person + €16 if you choose the Rodeo option.
This weekend can also be organised over 3 days, with 2 half days on the Giffre and a whole day on the Dranse.
